Parrott Creek Child & Family Services is hiring a Residential Counselor to work in a residential treatment center with adjudicated male youth.
We are hiring for overnight shift.
Residential Counselors work directly with the youth to provide a safe and secure environment where treatment can happen. They do this through creating healthy relationships with youth based on good boundaries between adults and youth.
Major responsibilities of the role include individual and group skill building, engaging with youth during activities and helping youth find solutions to their own problems. Residential Counselors work as a team modeling feedback for youth and each other as well as maintaining adherence to the agencies policies and procedures. As part of the team training includes but is not limited to; effective group and individual skill building, de-escalation of crisis situations, milieu management, appropriate supervision of youth, facilitation of day to day residential living, and activity planning and execution.
The Residential Counselor position is a three tiered position that allows for advancement as part of the team at Parrott Creek. Counselors as they are successful in training, acquire more skills, take on more responsibility and demonstrate proficiency, have the opportunity of advancing in their position.
Title: Residential Counselor
Days & Hours: Full time; Overnight Shifts, including holidays
Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Plan, Paid Vacation, Sick Leave, and Holidays
Compensation: Hourly rate begins at $16.00 an hour with a shift differential of .50 cents for overnight, and $1/hr differential for bi-lingual/bi-cultural candidates. Assessment to be done during interview process.
Education, Training, Experience: Bachelors degree in a relevant field preferred or two years relevant experience. CPR, First Aid and Food Handlers Card preferred upon hire. Prefer experience working with/in BIPOC communities; understanding of and commitment to mindfulness practice; understanding of and commitment to anti-racism; support of diverse lifestyles and cultures; training or experience with Restorative Justice programs and practices.
Bi-lingual preferred.
