Parrott Creek Child & Family Services
HistoryIn the late 1950's, boys in Clackamas county courts because of law violations were returned home or sent to the State training school - there was no middle ground. Seeking an alternative, voters passed a resolution in 1968 to create a residential facility to treat delinquent youth. In February 1969, the first boys entered the program then known as Parrott Creek Ranch. In 1976, the agency began providing post residential services, helping boys and their families adjust from a structured setting back to the community. In 1979, Parrott Creek began the Family Counseling Program to work with children and their families to prevent out of home placement. Services from this program have expanded over the years to remain on the leading edge of intervention strategy and technique. The agency initiated services for young children with the Learning with Infants and Toddlers Program. The Healthy Start collaboration replaced this in 1994. Parrott Creek is a primary provider in this unique program. Today, we continue to search for ways to effectively serve the community. Our most recent efforts include innovative projects that are community based; and we coordinate inter-agency service teams to facilitate interventions, collect data, and recommend policy and programs. Non-profit: what it means
Parrott Creek is an Oregon registered non-profit 501c(3) agency. We are
a corporation with a volunteer Board of Directors who are local area
citizens. Non-profit agencies generate revenue in several ways,
including contracts, grants, fee for service and donations.
