Diversion Panels: Parrott Creek operates diversion programs in six cities, including Canby, Gladstone, Lake Oswego, Milwaukie, Oregon City and West Linn. The diversion program is offered to eligible first or second time juvenile offenders as an alternative to formal court intervention. Agency staff work with the youth, family, juvenile department, police and community accountability panels to address concerns and redirect the youth. Support and referrals come from the Clackamas County Juvenile Department.

Lifeguards Counseling Program: A community based program that serves adjudicated male and female adolescent sex offenders, most of whom have been referred by the Clackamas Juvenile Department. Treatment consists of weekly therapeutic peer groups and monthly individual and family counseling sessions. Clients are expected to take full responsibility for their offenses, pass a full disclosure polygraph and complete a psycho-educational curriculum as well as adhere to their probation guidelines. Treatment generally lasts for 14 to 24 months.

Respite provides a much-needed break for youth and their families who are struggling. Youth are referred by the Clackamas County Juvenile Department and are voluntarily placed in a DHS certified foster home that provides a safe and nurturing environment, allowing youth to be in the most normative and least disruptive care possible. While in respite care, the primary focus is to stabilize the youth’s behavior, provide crisis intervention and prepare the youth and his/her family with a transition plan for the youth’s return home or to the next placement.

Shelter Care provides stabilization, assessment and transition services to boys age 14 to18, through a 60 to 90 day out of home placement. While in Shelter Care, an assessment of the youth, the family home setting, readiness for treatment, and appropriate community supports and placement options will occur. The youth and their family are also involved in individual and family counseling.
